This is a cool little stop it's not really a trail, but there is a walkway over the water, but it's not very far it's more of a visitor center. But definitely stop by feed the fish and turtles, taking a 5 to 10 min walk around the place get some pamphlets on shows and events.
No flower in Lafayette has the visual power of our azaleas!!! Almost 100 years of azaleas in Lafayette and the investment of this low maintenance shrub is worth every penny, every hour spent on revitalizing the trail...
The azalea bushes were gorgeous, and the employees were kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and legitimately excited about their town. And after visiting, I understand why. Nice little trail over the water here, and the maps they had to drive the rest of the azalea trail were very nice.
We stopped at the visitors center in Lafayette along the Azalea Trail. Very beautiful place to enjoy Louisianas natural beauty right in the middle of a busy city. Lots of information of places to visit and restaurants to try. Very clean bathrooms. Several art installations. Walking path to a pond with lots of turtles.
