Confirmed from Baldpate Mountain's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Baldpate Mountain

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (349 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Just 45 minutes from Philadelphia, it's a great place to go out and be in nature and get to a beautiful and whimsical view without getting too exhausted.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“It features easy trails around the overlook and main path.”

I really wanted to go hiking and in the area this mountain is not bad! I came on a Sunday in the late morning (~11am) and there was ample parking. We hiked about 6 miles and when we finished there were more cars in the parking lot but not super crowded or anything.

We did a bit of the blue trail from the Fiddler's Creek parking area and it was quite nice. We originally wanted to go to the Goat Hill Overlook area to enjoy views of the Delaware river, but when we arrived at that parking area. It was overflowing with cars and there was no parking.

★★★★☆ — Kellie , Mar 2021

Good mix of trails, from intense to leisurely. The red trail has some good climbs but can get really wet during the spring and fall, so take water resistant boots if that's what your doing.

★★★★★ — Jessica , Feb 2023

It's a great place for hiking with trails appropriate for beginners and seasoned alike. From the hill above the Visitor's Center, you get a great view of the Delaware River and the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. There is parking at the center if you just want to see the view without the hike!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 27 mentions

“With the birds chirping, a steady path of a hike, amazing temperature along the way, even the drive to the parking lot for the hike was scenic.”
