Confirmed from Bankhead Pkwy. Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bankhead Pkwy. Trailhead
“Well marked trails, beautiful spring morning and perfect weather for a hike.”
“One of our favorite easy hikes near Huntsville.”
I sincerely dislike this hill. Had a good friend of mine that i used to go riding with and he always wanted to start by going up this hill. That said, if you like riding, this really is a great place to start. You get to the top and everything is "downhill from there." This trail also has some really picturesque views.
A beautiful place with easy hikes. By far my favorite part of Huntsville is how quickly I can get to this trailhead and Belvin's Gap. A few recommendations if you do this trailhead: 1. Immediately at the entrance is a trail that follows the creek down hill.
I've always loved hiking and running on the trails, great for kids. Different levels of trails. Fun playground. Excellent views. Part of Monte Sank State Park.
Lower access to Land Trust and State Park trails. Not frequently patrolled by Law Enforcement Park Ranger. Secure belongings.
