Confirmed from Barker Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground, picnic tables, and a pavilion, plus a lending library and open field.
What runners say about Barker Park
“Dog owners, Please keep this place perfect, CLEAN AFTER YOUR DOGS.”
I had my boys' 5th birthday party here! Everyone loved the park and how private it is. The playground is the perfect size and there is plenty of running room! Highly suggest for an outdoor event.
This is a FANTASTIC park to go to with toddlers or your furry friend. I love the larger parks but when it's just me with the kids, this park makes it easy to just sit back and watch the kids play in one central location vs. everywhere. The playground equipment is medium-sized with four slides.
Nice park to take the dog to for a short walk. It is not an extremely large park, but it does extend back. Nice pavilion if you were to do a cookout.
Has nice big Field walk dog play sports and park for kids and has covered benches no water fountain ..

“The marsh area near the parking lot had a great number of birds to watch and the park was empty so the bird songs were great.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
