Confirmed from Ashbridge Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“This is a fantastic place to take your dog for a walk (on a leash, of course!”

Mostly shady, near creeks, beautiful woods. Especially in the "meadow" section, lots of bird song. Wooden planks over much of the potentially muddy parts. Easy to follow trails...except the yellow which had many offshoots. Walking all of the trails is about 2.3 miles total, mainly flat.

Beautiful and a fun adventure for family! Lots of butterflies birds fun paths and saw a snake and snail creating its shell this time!

A great place for a little summer "creek stomping" with the kids. We enjoyed the paths, though found some of the loops confusing. But small enough you can't get very lost. We tried to do the "GoWilma" but I think the engraving is missing from the post. Still, a good excuse to get out to thus beautiful, peaceful place.

It was a really nice walk to have. I went with my dog and she loved it. It was a little bit muddy but there were duckboard so you didn't have to trudge through the mud. There are a few creeks to cross with stepping stones and its a nice place to go for a short walk :)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 10 mentions

“Awesome preserve but I really wish they would ban dogs because people don't clean up after them at all.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
