Confirmed from Barmouth Trailhead at the Cynwyd Heritage Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Barmouth Trailhead at the Cynwyd Heritage Trail
“Clean, quiet, beautiful surroundings, bike, walk your dog(clean up bags available).”
“The trail was truly beautiful, gives off a nostalgic vibe while looking at the trail markers and the signs about the history of the Manyunk West Line”
Beautiful 😻 trail for biking and walking. There are side trails into the woods for hiking as well. Some portion paved and runs under the high voltage power lines. Great views on a bike 🚴🏾 or walk but more importantly quiet and breezy at sunset 🌅 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Great place to walk and wonderful views. Very well maintained . Always enjoyable goes into manayunk stop for a coffee or bite after the trail.
Great trailhead, a bit hidden without major signage and only 20 cars can park or so. The trail goes on for miles with a choice of road or gravel which is great for runners. All flat trail, not the best for birdwatching but there are some around to see still.
This is the site of the old Barmouth train station which was open from - to - and provided access to the West Laurel Hill Cemetery for commuters from Philadelphia who would visit cemeteries for recreation in green spaces.
