Back to my roots from 1975 to 1992 I lived in Bala-Cynwyd and this is the first time I’ve been back to this area in a couple of years. I did visit the little café at the station which changed hands and still has great healthy offerings, ample seating and free parking.
We always start at the Manayunk Bridge at the parking lot at Baker & Dupont and work out way to the wooded section of the trail. This is one of my favorite spots because you get a good view of Manayunk and then enter a nice shaded and clean trail with less people on most days.
I visited the area on Sunday May 18th 2025 to walk the trail for the first time. The trip to Manayunk round trip was a little over five miles on trail that is flat and paved. Even though my left foot experienced some pain I found the walk quite enjoyable.
