What a wonderfully short and sweet hike suited for all ages. Dogs are also welcomed here so long as they remain on leash and please remember to clean up the poo and keep out trails looking fresh. This one starts out at Orson Smith parking area where there are picnic tables and bathrooms.
This is a 2 mile round trip hike to the suspension and back. It is uphill to the bridge and downhill on the return trip. If you wish, you can hike the loop that way the return trip is not a repeat of the first part of the journey. I hiked this trail on a weekend so there were quit a few folks on the trail.
Well-marked and family friendly hike that leads to a pretty view at the suspension bridge. It’s a desert walk without much to look at until you get there, but pretty enough to be worth the trip. Note, it’s about a mile to the bridge, so don’t expect a 10 minute hike like some have been mislead to believe.
We recently took a group family hike to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge, and it was an awesome experience for all ages. The trail is well-maintained and not too difficult, making it super family-friendly. We had kids, teens, and even grandparents in our group, and everyone made it to the bridge without any issues.
