Confirmed from Bear Creek Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Bear Creek Nature Center

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (79 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The one mile loop is a great trail, not too intense & the scenery is beautiful.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Very educational and safe for all ages.”

I found this place by pure luck & I could not be happier that I did! The one mile loop is a great trail, not too intense & the scenery is beautiful. I also loved the fact that they have an information cabin and educational wildlife including bats, a gator, owls & several other creatures!

What a gorgeous hike! Be sure to come early so you can take it all in. Only $5 to park! My experience with the staff here was amazing, too. 🥰🪽

We had a nice time looking at and petting the animals here. They were super friendly and even took out the alligator for us for a little petting. It was rainy the day we went, so we didn't go on the trails, but we expect to the next time we come. Price was good without the trails and would be great with them.

We visited for the first time during the "Feathers and Flowers" event. We have a toddler who is obsessed with bees, butterflies, and birds. We had a wonderful time! The facility is in the process of making upgrades. But, what we've seen so far is a good start. The reptiles, amphibians, and bats were very cool.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
