Confirmed from Bear Creek Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly route featuring gators as well as creek crossings, river views and tree-shaded paths.
What runners say about Bear Creek Nature Trail
“The experience was gorgeous its self!”
“Trail itself can be walked easily but does not offer many shady spots.”
“You can complete the entire trail in about 20 minutes one-way, but you feel like you're off in a peaceful jungle the entire time.”
Oh man, so I went to Bear Creek Nature Trail and it was a total disaster! I was trying to be all nature-y and stuff, but really I was just a hot mess. Tip: bring your professional camera so you can take these awesome photos like i did! First, I tripped on a root and face-planted into a bush.
It's a small nature walking trail that's great for the little kids. But beware for some local folks have seen a five foot long alligator along the walking pathway. So don't let them littles off your sight.
Bear Creek Trail was a fun discovery on a recent trip to Winter Springs. There is a small parking area at the trailhead. From the parking area the trail radiates in both directions through a small hammock area with ancient cypress, oaks, and cabbage palms.
This was our first time here and for it not being a long trail it was very nice walk along a running creek on a well maintained path and our dogs enjoyed cooling off on the way. We explored off the path and enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for the great adventure. T&R.
