Confirmed from Beattie Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community park boasting numerous sporting amenities, such as a disc golf course & multi-use fields.
What runners say about Beattie Park
“Best place personally is the gazebo on top of the hill, very beautiful, nice view.”
It is amazing that we live in area that has so much beauty. The hike to the gazebo is steep, but a great workout. There is frisbee golf, basketball courts, picnic tables, a memorial, and vast areas of free space to run around.
The park is beautiful. There's areas for little kids (below 5 years) and another area for the bigger ones. Bathrooms are just a short distance away. There is plenty of shade and seating as well as pic nic tables for lunches or parties.
Park is very beautiful with story posts, beautiful path and grass. Wonderful large playground and covered picnic tables. However, hoodlums surrounded parents one evening a couple years ago, asking them for money. Maybe needs more patrolling as the sun sets?
Great park to get fresh air and exercise. The memorial garden is beautifully poignant & the hike up to the gazebo is short but gets the heart pumping! From there, the view of the city is something else!
Trail conditions & character
“Perfect view of south Vandenburg's launch complexes from this park up the coastal mountains on the South side of the valley.”
“Beattie park also has hoops Disc Golf, 18 holes, ample picnic areas with rolling hills, and trees to kick it under with your best girl in quiet secluded shade.”
“They just redid the parking lot, too (got rid of their squirrel problem), so there is plenty of ample parking.”
“Bathrooms are decent for a public park and the fields are kept well.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
