Confirmed from Belmont Mound State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
State park featuring hiking trails, a playground, a picnic pavilion, and a restroom.
What runners say about Belmont Mound State Park
“The trails are well maintained and easy to follow.”
“Very peaceful surroundings with plenty of birds and beautiful plants.”
It’s a really nice FREE place to go for a quick hike and time in the forest. if you don’t wanna do trails, you can just walk up and down the paved road. It's has a nice incline so you get a decent workout. We did the paved road and then some of the trails. Dog friendly, playground, bathrooms, picnic tables, parking.
We enjoyed a nice stroll through the woods one evening. Very peaceful surroundings with plenty of birds and beautiful plants. The trails are well maintained and easy to follow. A little bit of elevation in spots but bad at all. The undercover is thick too. I imagine it would be beautiful in the autumn!
This is a great hiking loop. When we came there was a family picnicking but no one else was on the trail. Being cool and forested, there were still plenty of mosquitoes. Benches along the way make for a nice experience.
Nice place for a spring walk. You can follow the old road up to the top of the hill, or the steeper footpath that begins near the entrance. The trails are not marked though, no signage at all. The tower is gone.
