Confirmed from Benicia Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Last if you're a hiker there's a beautiful trail down to the lake and back.”

This is one of those Park that has a secret place that is tuck away in the back. There is a trail that is off to the back that leads to a beautiful lake. It is breath taken. Look at the pictures. There's plenty for the family.

★★★★★ — Truth , Aug 2021

Beautiful park with great areas for children and toddlers to play. Giant slide big enough for parents to go down with their babies. Also a hiking trail that leads to a senic little lake. Soccer field & baseball field, this park has a little bit of everything!

★★★★★ — Jojo , Jun 2022

This is a really great park. There is a nice walking path, beautiful fields and a great playground. Most people are following social distancing rules which is great. Locals call this park the Big Slide park because of the big concrete slide which is the best part of the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“Great park with kids play area, a disc golf course, dog park, skate park, roller skating hockey rink, and tons of baseball and soccer fields throughout the year.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
