Confirmed from Bernadette Morales Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve offering trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and viewing plants and creeks.
What runners say about Bernadette Morales Nature Preserve
“Beautiful park, but the well-maintained trails are poorly marked.”
“Thanks to Volunteers for your hard work and make such a beautiful trail available to us.”
This hidden gem always regenerates me when I need a quick shot of vitamin N (nature). It's a quick, easy stroll along the creek (that gets a little crazy after heavy rains), or I can up the skill level a little by taking the Highlands trail (I think that's what it's called).
Nice surprise. Highly recommend. Thanks to Volunteers for your hard work and make such a beautiful trail available to us. Thanks!
The dogs loved this hike! Very muddy after it rains so just be prepared! Great for both a long or short hike!
A few miles of well-used trails winding through a dense woodland on the outskirts of Flemington. Some trails are a bit rocky, so hiking boots are recommended. Beautiful bird sounds from the trees!

“Nice, quiet hiking trail though it could use some more signage and markers.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
