Confirmed from Deer Path Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Playgrounds were really fun for kids of all ages.”

A great place to walk or ride. Some of the trails could use a little TLC, but there are plenty of places to explore, and the river is lovely.

★★★★☆ — Dom , Dec 2018

Great park system. I like the exercise equipment and all the connecting paths. Some of the outer paths can have more ticks than I can handle (certain times of the year). And if can get pretty soggy too. Otherwise a really amazing park. Good work NJ.

★★★★★ — Ric , Sep 2023

Lovely park. Great place to enjoy a walk and small hike. The have a brand new playground that is great but needs SHADE. I don’t understand why they do not put shade over the whole play area. My child almost burnt herself on the swings.

★★★★★ — Margaret , Aug 2023

Pleasant trails in general. Some sections are muddy, scattered horses' dunes to watch out for. Lost direction on a couple of occasions; it may just be me, though.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
