Confirmed from Big Brook Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area contains a stream, diverse wildlife, trails & archeological areas with fossils & artifacts.
What runners say about Big Brook Park
“It’s beautiful and you will see many geese 🪿 and other birds.”
Old growth forest behind the camp very nice hike. Old Marlboro psychiatric hospital graveyard is interesting. If you follow the Henry Hudson Trail to the back of the property (south) there is an old truck and farm equipment graveyard but it's pretty much invisible during the summer.
Nice little park part of Henry Hudson trail. Nice if live nearby and just want to get out quick and enjoy nature. Paved paths and trails, grassy fields
Excellent park with nice trails. Lots of varied landscape. The pond is full of blue gills. Trails are mild with a few steep spots
A great park. The trails in the woods are good. Many different avenues to go. Also open spaces to walk as well.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
