Confirmed from Big Pocono State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Rugged park on the summit of Camelback Mountain offering activities such as hiking & skiing.
What runners say about Big Pocono State Park
“The plants and other trees are beautiful - especially the blooming mountain laurel - late May- early June.”
“Big Pocono State Park is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views and a peaceful escape into nature.”
This was a great stop for us on our road trip! We parked at lot 3 and we followed a trail that lead us to the Indian trail and then the Vista Trail. The grounds are beautiful, and the views are simply spectacular. It's definitely worth the stop to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and noise.
Big paved trails great for bikers. View is best at the parking lot. Connects to Camelback ski resort, but you can’t take the lift down and back up unless you pay to enter through the water park at the bottom. One star off for lack of viewpoints outside of the car lots.
Beautiful point to see many landmarks from this height. It has lot of history and calmness. Come here park your car and sit 🪑 indulge in nature. Picnic 🧺 tables, washrooms, water tap are present here. Garden is good. It has old cabin on the hill top looks very nice 👍. Helicopter 🚁 pad is also here.
September 2023: Nice free spot to get above it all and take a walk or hike. Plenty of free parking, bike parking and a few handicapped spots. Nice paved walking route, or rocky dirt paths. Pick up a map at one of the kiosks. Vault toilet restrooms. Women’s locks, Men’s does not. Watch out for rattlesnakes!
