Confirmed from Woodland Trail - Mount Airy Trail Network's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Woodland Trail - Mount Airy Trail Network

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (65 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“A beautiful trail that i encourage you to take slow.”

👟 good for all levels 5 mentions

“But a very easy trail and a very nice stream that you walk around.”

This is a short loop trail, 1.5h if you stroll. The parking is free and the parking lot is not well maintained. Though we managed to walk this trail with a stroller, it is not stroller friendly, we had to lift the stroller since there after steps and at one place you have to walk on stones to cross a creek.

Nice trail near the casino. Absolutely quiet - I would not expect other hikers here ;-). It’s a 30 minute round trip in and out. There is also a small geocache hidden near the return point of the trail. Due to the caches log only one geocacher every 3 month finds a way in the woods.

A short lovely and tranquil trail that runs parallel with a stream. It’s an easy walk and a nice getaway from the resort. A must when you are visiting.

A beautiful trail that i encourage you to take slow. Look both up and down, as the shady covered places where the sun doesn't reach are just as beautiful as the tops of the sunbathed trees against the sky. This area has a large variety of trees, plants, algae, and fungi, as well as some wildlife.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
