Confirmed from Birdsong Park Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I have been on the hunt for more hidden parks within Wny, and this one was great! It is in a nice area, close to Chestnut Ridge. The paths are a mix of rock, grass and boardwalk. The paths are isolated, but quiet and well maintained.

Loved this little gem. We went for a sunrise walk on the trails. We took our time enjoying the scenery and admiring the herons, hummingbirds and a baby eagle! Definitely relaxing, not crowded and very very well kept.

The Bird Song Nature Trail is a gem! I was completely enamored by its beauty. The trail is easy to hike, making it perfect for all fitness levels. The people I met were friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The scenery is pleasant I would love to go back and fall and winter.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Birdsong Park Nature Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
