Confirmed from Bison Plant Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Dirt-surface, wooded park featuring many miles of trails, suited for hiking and biking.
What runners say about Bison Plant Trail
“The scenery is stunning—lush greenery, open views, and plenty of wildlife along the way.”
“One star off because the Bison Trail, while initially well marked tapered off in the markers after about half mile and we ended up lost and on a gravel road instead of a trail.”
“The path is beautifully maintained, easy to follow, and perfect for anyone looking to enjoy peaceful nature time.”
“The paths are clearly marked and the entire area feels well cared for, making it an enjoyable and safe spot for all ages.”
For Minot this is the best trail around if you're wanting to stick close to town. Well marked, never too busy and has multiple trails for hiking and biking. Let my dog off-leash there every time.
Great trails, plenty of wildlife, very green and plenty of shade. My son caught his first snake here and learned the importance of leaving wildlife where they belong ( where you found them) and not making every cute thing a pet! We had a wonderful time hiking the Bison Plant Trail!
A lovely trail, well marked except for one section. The addition of the parking area is awesome. Separate hiking and biking trails improve flow and safety while offering something for everyone. Lots of tree cover, great scenery, serene setting, a nice little spot.
It was a fun place to hike and I'm excited to take our bikes later this summer for the biking trails and challenges. One star off because the Bison Trail, while initially well marked tapered off in the markers after about half mile and we ended up lost and on a gravel road instead of a trail.
