Confirmed from Blackstrap Hill Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Land trust featuring biking, hiking and trail-running paths, plus dog-walking.
What runners say about Blackstrap Hill Preserve
“Some parking is available at the trail heads, and the system is interconnected providing miles of beautiful mostly wooded trails!”
Absolutely beautiful place with stupendous mountain biking trails! Flow Creek Trail in particular is highly recommended.
Newer, ambitious rider. Take the trail directly out of the car park for an immediate long, rocky, fun descent. Worm your way back up through the twists and turns and (yes) roots. Roots aren't too bad. Not much of a match for the 29" tires. Next pick a descent line. I chose black!
Nice shared use trail network with a good variety of terrain, very large for a local land trust. There are lots of snowmobile trails (both marked and unmarked) running through the property that are easily mistaken for hiking trails but don't connect to the loop network, so it can be easy to get off track.
Beautiful preserve with a ton of trails. Most of them are difficult climbs so be prepared to shred for a few hours. Also download TrailForks for navigation and tracking your trips.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
