We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Blackwater Creek Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Really nice lowkey park with clean river running thru it. The dog park is a lovely set-up surrounded by brick privacy walls & beautiful landscaping. Cool obstacle course for furry friends to keep their interest & agility strong!

The dog park was awesome! Lots of room for dogs to play and run. The grass did need to be cut! The dog water fountain was popular! Owners very friendly!

I think this is probably a great park. It's very hard to give an accurate opinion as I chose an extremely bad day for going to this park. I was there to try to get some energy run off from my pup. It had snowed and iced over as Virginia snow tends to do. The small dog park was the furthest away from the parking lot.

I frequently use the public dog park at this location. The area is very well maintained and is always looking good. This area has an area for the dogs and area for the humans. The dogs have water provided and a hose to be washed off if they get dirty.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“My dog bubbah loves the dog park of it plenty of space for him to run around and got fountains for them too.”
