Confirmed from Blackwater Heritage State Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Blackwater Heritage State Trail
“Found well maintained, paved bike & walk path.”
“Beautiful trail, paved for bikes and skateboarding.”
“Great place for a peaceful, quiet ride or walk.”
Great trail! It was upkept well, and everyone on the trails seemed respectful of others.
Smooth, easy flat ride- lots of pull off areas and benches along the way. There are also lots of stop signs on the trails as you are riding in the middle of public properties along downtown at one point. Pretty natural views with birds and bear beware signs! Level 2 out of 5 for difficult.
Very shaded for most of the path. The path was wide enough for multiple group to pass without issues. There are TONS of restrooms and stopping points with informational signs and benches to rest at. Only real complaint was that we wanted more signs to learn about the trail and wildlife
Rainy day walk. First time visitor. Found well maintained, paved bike & walk path. Looks like former train track right of way. Found old train trestle bridge. Peaceful walk today. Low crowds. Parking for horse trailers here.

- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
