Confirmed from Bourlay Historic Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with a fishing pier, lake views, and picnic areas, plus well-marked trails.
What runners say about Bourlay Historic Nature Park
“Very nice trails and many of them, even some of a fitness trail, old historic stuff to look at, public bathrooms and very clean area.”
“Robbie and Phil Bracco Photographer's for Beautiful Art Prints of all the thigs to see in our area.”
“Great park for a nice relaxing walk in the shade of the trees.”
“One of the trails was roped off, but the others were easy to navigate.”
“Cool park close to town, a quiet setting on Lake Griffin and a real hidden gem.”
A cool little park with a little over 2.5 miles of hiking trails. A quiet suburban park that is well shaded. Trail blazes could be a little more abundant but the trail is wide and well maintained. Mosquitoes are thick by the parking area and by the lake so don't forget bug spray.
A nice hidden gem in Leesburg. It has great trails and even a fitness trail. The bathrooms are clean and kept up. There is even spots to have a picnic. Great historical buildings to look at, as well as a view of the water. I myself didn't walk ALL the trails, however i plan on returning for another visit.
Great park for a nice relaxing walk in the shade of the trees. Beautiful land that is along Lake Griffin. There are a couple of boardwalks and absolutely gorgeous views of the water. Definitely recommend visiting this park. There is some good history here as well.
Nice hidden trail to get away from Leesburg traffic. There’s an old outdoor church here, also little workout sections (pull up, push up bars etc) and a bridge to fish at on lake griffin
