Confirmed from Brook Run Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Such a good park! As soon as we parked our car, we saw so much scenery and things to do as we walked. It includes a skate park, a large open fields, paved trails, playgrounds, and more!! The trails are so nice and clean and the big walking area is so nice with benches as well! Lots of restrooms are provided.

I came here to walk the trail and it was a great experience! The whole loop seemed to be about 2 miles or slightly less. It was a nice and wide paved trail, very easy walking. There were several offshoots to the path, but I wasn’t sure where they went, so I stuck with the main loop.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 16 mentions

“There are many activities you can do at this park (Dog Park, Treetop Quest, Skate Park, Veterans Memorial, sports fields, etc).”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
