Confirmed from Brown County WI Fonferek's Glen's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,171 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Definitely not what I was expecting, but definitely beautiful There was also a rock arch here According to my AllTrails: hiked 1.”

What a beautiful place to visit. The falls are right at the beginning, so if you just want to view them, you don't have to do much walking. We spent about two hours on the trails. Took in as much as we could.

I grew up in the Green Bay area for a few years, and I frequent it there often. I never knew this existed! It's definitely a must to go to at least once! Plan to take off your shoes to get across the shallow flowing water! I was the only one who wore sandals.

Pro tips: ▪︎ 2 port-a-pottys (portable toilets) sit behind the large old barn looking building by the entrance! Initially, we didn't walk that far into that area so we assumed they didn't have any restrooms (we also asked a couple other folks by their cars & they either didn't know or didn't think they had any) - so…

We took the dogs on a Tuesday evening and the park was surprisingly busy! Lots of trails, most are pretty tight, but passable. There are some fairly steep climbs, so definitely wear appropriate shoes. The park boast a few beautiful water falls, but the riverbeds were almost dry this particular trip.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Brown County WI Fonferek's Glen

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
