Confirmed from Brown’s Ranch Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Brown's Mountain Trail is so cool! You can climb to the tippy top! The trail is flat and rolling at first, then there is a steady incline. There are some switchbacks and then an area that is pretty steep right before the scenic overloook. From there, you can go up a narrow, rocky path to the tippy top...

Wow. Wow. Wow. What a fantastic resource for the Scottsdale, Arizona, and tourist community. The Brown's Ranch Trail is a fantastic network of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. It's well maintained, conveniently situated, and very easy to access.

Great trail, I recently had leg surgery and needed a flat trail that I could navigate easily. Brown’s Ranch has a few trails and one impractical was extremely flat with little incline or decline. Just what my leg needed. It was nice to be able to get out and get a short trail walk done.

Great hike, a few people on the trails. Trails are pretty easy, with a few difficult parts. Most of the time, there is an easy trail around the difficult parts. Winter and early spring are my favorite times to hike here. Remember to bring water and please clean up after yourself and your pet if you bring one.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
