Confirmed from Buckner's Trestle's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Buckner's Trestle
Historical marker located approximately 3/4 mile down the South Campus Rail Trail.
Fond memories of this trail. We would pound a few forties and have a time.
I feel kind of weird rating this place, but the story behind it is rather interesting. I look forward to learning more about it. I have seen snakes in the woods off this trail.
Great spot to stop and reflect about life in Oxford Ms shortly after the Civil War. 20 people tragically lost their lives in 1870 when the bridge gave way. Also provides and excellent walk down a trail maintained by the University of Mississippi.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
