Confirmed from Buena Vista Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Buena Vista Creek Trail
It is a 0.3 mile rarely used maintenance road for the underground sewer. The trees and shrubs create a buffer so you feel enveloped in nature's greenery, but the sounds of traffic on the adjacent freeway shatter the illusion on several spots.
Nice easy trail. It's next to the water so wear bug spray. Enjoyed being part of the clean up day effort!
Trail conditions & character
“There is a lot of street parking, but visitors and guests of the apartments across the street fill most of them in the evenings.”
“I tried it on a gravel bike, but the road has not been flattened by heavy usage so there was fairly deep silt in places and strong vibration in others.”
“It would be impassible for a wheelchair or stroller.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
