Confirmed from Burchfield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
540-acre park circling Grand River features boating, fishing, swimming & trails for hiking & biking.
What runners say about Burchfield Park
“Cross Country ski trails are well maintained and rental equipment is available if you don't have your own!”
“It displayed the most beautiful scenic fall foliage through the Riverwalk trial I've ever seen.”
“The new Dirt School will be a great place for kids of all ages to learn skills and just have fun.”
Review of Renegades Trail Disc Golf course, thats in the Burfield Park grounds. Amazing disc golf course, one of the best in the state. Very challenging, technical course with alot of long 500' to 1000', par 4s and par fives. With a few, short shoter technical shots sprinkled in.
I absolutely love this place. It's great to just take a walk in the woods or have a picnic/outing with the family and other loved ones. My long time boyfriend and I really enjoy exploring the plant life in the area. Sometimes people will leave a walking stick in front of the trails which is fun.
For mountain biking it has a variety of trails with all difficulty levels. The new Dirt School will be a great place for kids of all ages to learn skills and just have fun. There are a lot of other activities for people and families of all ages and seasons of the year.
This place is incredible, I had no idea we were walking into such a gem. I wish some of the long grass was further from the fairwaybecause we did lose one disc but the overall grooming is over the top. It's amazing that they've devoted so much space to disc golf here and I LOVE it. It's phenomenal.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
