We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Burden Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Burden Preserve
“Wish the trails deeper in the preserve were more well kept.”
“The trails are well marked and well maintained.”
Great spot. Wish the trails deeper in the preserve were more well kept.
Trail well marked. A decent walk in the woods but roads and houses are almost always in view so it doesn’t feel like a walk in nature, more like a park with lots of trees if that makes sense. Good 1 hour hike. Lots of prickly bushes if you veer off the path.
An excellent place to walk in the woods. The trails are well marked and well maintained.
A bit muddy in the wetland areas so wear boots. A beautiful spot to hike.
