Confirmed from Merestead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Merestead
“The Merestead is a an absolute gorgeous 130 acre estate located in Mount Kisco, New York.”
“Trails were quite well marked.”
Interesting place worth beautiful landscape. This was part of my home around Mount Kisco. Northern Westchester or middle, really had some nice plants ro hike. Spent four hours in the woods.
Great place to go. Truly a hidden gem! The Mrs loved this one and so will yours Just be careful if your route getting there is by the lake/reservoir as it's gravel for a couple miles (side note: Also a nice vista, we almost stopped the car there instead!).
Very beautiful old estate property. I took a tour of this place when it first opened. The house looked like some ghost family had just moved out. All of their things were still there. The park ranger even showed us the lady of the house's wedding lace! It was like a time capsule.
Stumbled on this park while driving through the area. Very few people were here, it doesn't seem super busy. A few picnic tables around, good views. Trails were quite well marked. Map was a little unclear as far as what colors the trails were blazed with. Overall, honestly, a nice little area to walk around!
