We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Burke Gilman Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Burke Gilman Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (11 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Great trail for biking, jogging, or walking! We hadn’t been biking in years and we did a few miles, it was a breeze. I’d recommend for people who don’t bike often.

★★★★★ — Erika , Oct 2023

Its a good trail and has been around for a very long time. It connects up to many other trails including the Sammamish River trail and other trails that stretch from the boarder of Canada all the way to the Mexico border.

★★★★★ — Dale , Jan 2023

Did the point to point 20 mile trail as a roundtrip (40 miles) from east (Bothell) to west (Seattle). 98% of it straight forward. Ran into a little bit of an issue due to construction. It showed a detour for bikes but never routed you back. Would have been better off staying in traffic lane for 1 block.

★★★★★ — Don , Apr 2026

This part of the long trail connect the Wayne park with Parks on the other side of 96 Avenue NE via a tunnel. Tunnel wall is colorfully painted. Didn’t walk long distance today.
