Confirmed from Burnside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park with a beach, trails, BMX track, and river views.
What runners say about Burnside Park
“All ways clean love the rc track but I did not catch any fish”
“Beautiful and clean beach.”
I parked on Holmes and Buck where it’s a residential area. After parking I walked with my baby (in a carrier) down a semi-steep staircase to the river across the Meldrum bar park. I want to say it’s about half a mile. It was a great short hike where I was lucky enough to see some sea lions swimming.
Great little trail that goes from Buck Street, along the river, all the way to the back of the library (Market of Choice shopping center).
It's an awesome place to hike but the trails are extremely Steep and muddy... I had a baby with me so I had to be super cautious but all-in-all really a cool little hike
Trails are well cared for and easy for running. The water is calm here and great for kayaking.
Trail conditions & character
“Make sure to bring a swimsuit in the summer, and keep an eye out for dogs off their leash if you bring yours.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
