Confirmed from Maddax Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park along the river offering heron watch events, picnic tables, and kid-friendly hikes.

“beautiful cozy, serene woods the likes of no other.”
Nice little place for a picnic by the river. Little parking lot. By the house there is a picnic table by the river. Walk down the path and there is a trail down to the waters edge. Connects to other trail system, to a park and playground. Lots of wildlife, including deer sightings.
Such a peaceful hidden gem! Maddax Woods offers a quiet, relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful water view and a lovely garden full of greenery. Perfect for a calming walk or a moment of reflection. We love visiting this spot whenever we need a break from the busy day. Highly recommended! – Om Massage
It was a beautiful forested walk leading down to the river. I wouldn't call it a super easy hike that there were hills especially at the beginning and then if you want to go down to the river and it is not paved so I wouldn't think it would be great for wheelchairs. I would go back again
Always empty with very few annoying life forms. Plus, a super easy entrance through a neighborhood that ends in a tiny gravel parking lot. Dorothy library trail head starts in the parking lot and also leads down to the water at the opposite side of the lot.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
