Confirmed from Busse Forest-South's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve offering picnic tables and trails, plus a public restroom.
What runners say about Busse Forest-South
“Indeed a beautiful, scenic place to hang out with friends and family even solo person can found peace in here.”
“Lots of great paths for running, biking, walking, and being in nature.”
This is my absolute favorite place to do my long marathon training runs. Come out here any Saturday morning at 6:30 and you'll see hundreds of runners. Very motivating
I hadn't been to Busse Woods since I was a teenager. The map made it look like there was an entrance to the bike path from grove #6, but unfortunately, that was not true. We had a hard time finding and entrance to the path, but once we did, the path was really nice.
My bike a couple times around the 8th mi loop. Very scenic. Lots of runners, walkers and other bikers. Very popular place. Be sure to look for the adult male and female elk in a fenced-in area near the South parking lot.
Indeed a beautiful, scenic place to hang out with friends and family even solo person can found peace in here. I visited this place during fall season and it was mesmerizing.
