Great wooded bike path, lakes you can fish in. Also launch your own or rent boats.
Large forest preserve in North Chicago. The main walking and biking track is paved and goes all around the park around the lake. The track is about 7 miles all around with a few tracks which branch off. There are a few bridges which has dams under it. It is on a river which has been dammed to make a lake.
Lush green scenery. Perfect place to unwind, ride your bike, walk with a friend or enemy ( you’ll end up as friends again ). Decent washrooms.
I come here on my lunch and sit outside. Then take a walk. It's a beautiful place and I many times can see a deer while eating my lunch!
