Confirmed from Cache Creek Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil area with trails and observation points, plus educational facilities and friendly staff.
What runners say about Cache Creek Nature Preserve
“Beautiful location doing such important conservation and cultural restoration work!”
This was cool. I mean it was super cheap. They walk you along a path and they dont go down any of the cool looking paths. They take you to a river were you conveniently hear a beaver splash. I personally think someone threw a rock in the watter but you couldn't see.
Great place to get some wildlife experience in with the kids and so close to town. Only downside is the limited weekend hours. Lots of really accessible trails as well as a couple of observation platforms and boardwalks.
This place has a fantastic habitat restoration program as well a really great cultural and ecological education programs. It's also a great place just to walk around. The dedicated staff are really great as well.
Love coming out here, it's so nice being close to nature and my Grandson loves the freedom of walking around on the trails, and playing with all the sticks and rocks.
Trail conditions & character
“Got good views of a Northern Flicker as well as Cliff Swallows and many other birds.”
