What a lovely surprise. We were in town with a few hours to spare and found this beautiful gem of a park. Beautifully maintained, clearly marked paths and surrounded by nature... Very peaceful, plenty of birds and interesting plants and trees. Map provided at entrance... Sweet spot.
We came on a very wet day, and a lot of the trails were soggy, some of them were under water. But, there were plenty of plank bridges to walk across the wet spots. The trails seemed nicely maintained, and are well marked.
A very nice preserve. It used to be an old boy scout camp. You can get to oldsman creek down an old road. There are hiking trails. We hiked some of them. Not sure how extensive they are. Not a lot of parking. You can bring kayaks to the river, but it is a little far from the parking.
The trails are well maintained and easy for children to follow. There are maps available by the main sign out front and also inside the office. There is a dock for small boats i.e. canoes or kayaks. It is very peaceful and beautiful. We will definitely be back to explore again!
