Confirmed from Thompson Family Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great walking/jogging track, tennis courts, pickle ball, playgrounds and 2 dog parks. Trails are dog friendly too with pet pickup stations scattered along side the trails. Tennis courts, basketball courts and the pickle ball courts all have just been redone late summer of 2025

Love the large dog parks! There’s one for the bigger dogs and one for the smaller dogs. They provide clean water via a city/town water pump (in season) and bags if u should have to clean up after your little (or big) one. They also have a bench and gazebo in each park.

I love taking my dog to the park here! She could run around and play all she wants. There are also two dog parks, one for smaller dogs and one for bigger dogs, which is nice. The overall park is also a nice place to walk around and playgrounds are fun to take younger family members to!

Always kept on great shape for our EGSA and Kingsway teams. The amenities are just as great with multiple playgrounds, a dog park, waking paths, bat nest, snack stands, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, soccer fields and indoor turf training barn! Great work to all

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
