Confirmed from Campbell's Ledge Lookout Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What a view! I would consider the trail to be moderate and might be challenging for very young/older family members, depending on abilities. Some of the trail is a bit on the wet and rocky side, so sturdy shoes are highly recommended. The path along the reservoir is very relaxing but quite buggy.

Amazing hike. The actual trail is a 2 track service road, so not a through the woods hike per say. Fairly steep and consistent grade. Make sure to check out the Campbell reservoir - it is a good half way point to stop for a rest. Views are great up top but be careful there is no railing.

Can't even count how many times i've hiked this trail. It's best to go first thing in the morning before 9am-ish because you beat the heat when its nice out. The view is awesome at the top! The reservoir is beautiful! Recommend a sunrise hike & a sunset hike! The trails through the woods are relaxing.

Definitely worth the uphill hike. You will be rewarded with awesome (spectacular) views of the Susquehanna and Wyoming Valley. The hike is mostly gravel roads that can be steep and slippery. There is some quad and four-wheeler so be on the watch out for some traffic. Round trip from Coxton.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
