This is a beautiful state park. My wife and I enjoy hiking and we decided to visit after moving to the area last autumn. The trails are very enjoyable. We're looking forward to more hiking excursions and eventually taking our bikes out there to ride.
Great park overall and was impressed with the amenities. We stayed overnight in a walk in site, which was uphill from the parking lot so getting gear there was a little more effort than expected. Sites are nicely sized, shaded, and well maintained.
Camped here back in September. Site was very private even across from the bath house. Bathrooms were about average for a state park. Not a lot of people selling wood nearby, but found an older fella down on west 8th street who sold me a huge amount for cheap (def recommend stopping, make a left at the intersection…
Camp site was great, very beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We walked a couple of the trails and they were well maintained, a little muddy but it did rain the night before. The kayak rentals were reasonably priced and the staff who helped us were incredibly kind and explained everything very well.
