I was hesitant to write a review about this hike, I don't want to draw too many people in to a place I enjoy so much. This is one of my favorite hikes in Tolland. I've cherished Campbell Peaceful Valley for years and I have always appreciated the solitude I feel when hiking here.
This hike was beautiful. There were a few routes you could take once you entered the initial trail head. I've attached a pic of the map and route names posted at the beginning. The Overlook Trail is the one to the right.
Overall it was a good and easy hike. The trail is well marked and easy to navigate. Most of the trail is forest floor with only a few small areas of rocks, some elevation gain but an easy climb. Lots of wildlife activity with beaver dams all around the water.
A wonderful set of trails in Tolland. Sometimes challenging due to rocky terrain and some small elevation changes, but I would not call it difficult. Rewards include some wonderful rock formations and an overlook on a ridge line. Definitely a must see in the area. Trails are often small but very well marked.
