Confirmed from Canal Lock Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a blacktop path, picnicking, and a prairie, plus opportunities for biking and walking.
What runners say about Canal Lock Park
Awesome little park in Tipp City. First time in this little town. Lots of history and interesting stuff. This park was a great find with an Ohio Historical marker explaining it. On a bike trail with an air pump and tools if needed to make repairs. The drinking fountain was shut off due to Covid-19.
This park is ok. The canal boat is part of an argument between to groups of people. One says it has historical importance. The other group says no it doesn't. So the boat that sits there hid behind an old mill continues to deteriorate because of two opinions. Sad. I see it everyday.
Canal Lock Park is a waypoint, a node to adventure. It's a great place to access the Miami bike trail, to go walking in the prairie or along the Great Miami River, or to go exploring historic Tipp City. There is a bike maintenance rack near the bike trail and fresh water fountains.
Historical park with a historical marker explaining the use and importance of the canal to Tipp City OH, as well as the remains of a lock. The bike trail goes through the park, so it is a pleasant resting place with a shelter and there is parking.
