Confirmed from Canaveral Marshes Conservation Area Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Canaveral Marshes Conservation Area Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (106 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“It was a couple miles to get to the river and a little further to reach the Paw Paw Mound hiking along the river (an awesome historical site and beautiful area to explore).”

Excellent location to completely immerse yourself into the beautiful Florida outdoors. The waters from the swollen St John's River has finally subsided and the cattle have moved down to the river again. This makes wildlife spotting much easier, since the cows aren't moseying around mooing and making noise.

Great hiking area to explore around the St Johns River. I followed the blue trail straight towards the river. Being in a drought it was nice and dry all the way to the river. I imagine in the rainy season it would be very damp towards the end.

★★★★★ — Frank , May 2024

My wife and I spent several hours bike riding and geocaching along the trails. This was in February. I imagine it could be pretty miserable in July/August.

★★★★☆ — Donald , Feb 2020

Canaveral Marshes Conservation Area is an excellent location for birding. On yesterday's hike, I saw a Bald eagle, a red shouldered hawk, several species of wading birds, and flocks of White pelicans. Be aware that once inside the gate, you may see cattle grazing as this is all pasture land.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
