Confirmed from Dicerandra Scrub Sanctuary's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 44-acre nature preserve boasts a 1-mile hiking trail that circles marshes & protected wildlife.
What runners say about Dicerandra Scrub Sanctuary
“Expect little to no shade of hiking during sunny weather.”
Relatively short loop trail through scrub habitat. Plenty of birds. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring water, especially when it's hot (going early or late in the day will help you avoid the extreme heat during summer). There is no shade for most of the trail.
Nice dry trail through scrub (palmetto and slash pine mostly). Expect little to no shade of hiking during sunny weather. It's a pretty small park and there are views of development on the perimeter but it's still a nice little park.
This is an unlikely spot hidden in the midst of a residential area. However, it has a very pleasant one-mile loop through Florida Scrub habitat. I was entertained by swooping Florida Scrub jays who seemed quite willing to be seen.
Nice winding trail that's 1 mile long, couple of benches to rest along the way. Lots of wildlife to see
