Confirmed from Cape Cod Rail Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular paved path where families can bike, walk, run or stroll among lakes, shops and eateries.
What runners say about Cape Cod Rail Trail
“So well maintained and you'll see wonderful flowers along the way, at least during the summer.”
“We had such a wonderful experience riding along this scenic, well-maintained path.”
“What really stood out was how safe and family-friendly the entire trail felt.”
Great place to ride or walk from many places on Cape Cod. Paved in almost all places. Watch for crosswalks and tunnels. Earlier in the day, it’s less traveled and easier to navigate.
I've been using this trail now for 20 years and it's always a new adventure. It's an amazing well maintained trail and always a wonderful experience. There's everything you could ask for; Ponds, Wetlands, The Ocean, Dunes, Hardwood and Conifer Forests, Cranberry Bogs and Marshes, and historic little towns and villages.
Great recreation path. Trail is entirely paved. The path is not that wide. See picture. Lots of scenery along the way. Lots of road crossings.
The Cape Cod Bike Trail is an absolute gem for families! We had such a wonderful experience riding along this scenic, well-maintained path. It’s smooth, wide, and easy to navigate, which made it perfect for pulling a kid carrier behind our bikes.
