Confirmed from Nickerson State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Nickerson State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,876 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“Also clean (fresh water lake) beach areas and landing for canoes and non-motorized boating.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“We found a beautiful beach "Linnell Landing Beach" just a 20-minute drive away, and there were plenty of cafes in town.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“It's been our second year pitching a tent in August and I cannot express adequately how peaceful and quiet it feels despite full occupancy.”

Tent camped here twice with kids and stayed in a yurt. We love the park. Tons of frogs, insects for little ones but a lot of moths (July) The screened in tent area was nice to put up around picnic table. Moths still got in but limited them. So happy we invested in a fan. Powered by USB charge.

It was honestly one of the best campsites we've visited. The bathrooms were very clean, and there were shower stalls as well. There was a basin for dishwashing, and easy access to clean water with water pumps throughout the campsite. We had a great time.

Nickerson State Park ... what a dreamy place. It's been our second year pitching a tent in August and I cannot express adequately how peaceful and quiet it feels despite full occupancy. Where else on Cape Cod do you get that in the middle of summer?

We spent a gorgeous late-August Friday afternoon at Nickerson State Park in Brewster, and would definitely go again! We didn’t camp so I can’t speak to the amenities. Parking for Mass residents was $8. We hiked 2.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Flat & fast 8 mentions

“Some sites larger than others, some sites clear than others, some sites are more level than others.”
