Confirmed from Carpinteria Bluffs Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Coastal park with ocean views, a seal sanctuary, and blufftop trails.
What runners say about Carpinteria Bluffs Trailhead
“This place is beautiful and worth visiting more than once… was nice to visit in the afternoon to later have dinner in the evening with local eats, we chose Teddy’s which was great!”
“Casual walk very easy walk”
Great place to go for a hike. The seals are located near the pier. We’ll have to revisit as the seals were not hanging out on the beach. But we did see a couple of seals swimming in the water. There were a bunch birds all lined up and sectioned by breed instead. Rank and file! Looked interesting.
Parking is full. Had to only stop for 10min for photos instead of going on a sunset hike. There should have enough parking for more cars though but people don’t seem to care and don’t want to park close to each other(there’s no marking).
Parked here to get to the seal sanctuary... Was perfect. Nice people along these trails, everyone was welcoming. Passed the train tracks. Be careful with the cliff areas.
A very nice and small hiking area. A great place to stretch your legs while heading up the coast. A few short trails with some great ocean and mountain views.
