Confirmed from Rincon Beach County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A popular surfing spot, this beach is also the setting for swimming, picnicking & bird-watching.
What runners say about Rincon Beach County Park
“Very nice beach with beautiful sunset view, lots of play area and clean sand.”
“It is absolutely beautiful 😍 the only reason I give it 4 stars is because of that ramp you have to walk to get up and down but that's just the perfectionist in me and I'm lazy.”
Beautiful! Place! No butterfly at this time! The Right time to visit and find butterfly there is from October to February, but the beach is just next to it! Plus camping grounds too! Which very convenient! I love the idea of just walk From there to the beach, I enjoyed my time just walking and picking some shells!
It's a short walk downhill and the beach itself is nice but can be busy on weekends and holidays. I suggest going early in the day. There is a decent surf perch bite if you are trying to do some fishing. Over all a decent California beach in a great area. I would come back again if I'm ever in the area.
What a wonderful beach. We use it as a stopping point on our way to Cayucos. Not too crowded. There is a short, paved downhill walk to the beach. Great driftwood huts- lol. Our dog loves this beach. Clean restrooms.
The trail down to the beach is lined with these beautiful flowers. Awesome beach for families!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
